NOTE: This game almost exclusively focuses on women’s extreme weight gain. There are small sidepath-kinks, but you should only play this game if you love big women or are curious enough. Only invest time if one of these two apply.
STORY
David is a unique guy. He came back to live in his hometown after some soul searching, ultimately realizing he has to take a ‘Nutritions’ study in college. In addition, he takes up a job at a local diner in order to afford this college life, while his parents left him behind with a big house to care for.
After my 16-hour playthrough, I clocked about 4 hours of the game as actual main story content. Another 4.5 hours of it are individual character stories, while the other 7.5 hours were grind. Yes, you will grind (too) much in this game. For now, let’s focus on storytelling first.
David‘s unique teacher introduces him to a new phenomena: loving and sexualizing weight gain in women. Her unorthodox methods actually set him up to figure out he has a kink for obese women. In turn, many women around him harbor a deep rooted desire to become heavily obese. A match made in calorie heaven.
Shards of the main story are shared in between certain scenes, hinting at an overall cultish influence. It's currently too little and too shallow to actually be a driving story for this game, however. You are a discovering feeder and adipophile, and you’re out to corrupt women around you. That’s what it all boils down to.
Currently, the game features 20 characters to interact with, all having their own little backstory. Just know that in the end, all stories have a similar thread, but pack just enough variety to feel different. Those stories range from David setting a woman up to become fat, to them including him in their journey to become fat. The road is different, but the destination never changes.
The game tries to strike a balance between being a Weight Gain Simulator and a story-based novel, which actually makes it both and neither. Lovers of big women will love the measuring, jiggling and specific dirty talk. Their stories actually allow these women to become the most full-sized versions of themselves.
In my opinion, this game could have benefited from a smaller scope, focusing on a couple women and the cult. Then, offloading stories like Maya’s, Hari's and Lyn’s to different games would give those stories the momentum to really hit home.
Fattening Career is exactly what it says - building a career out of making people fat. if you can allow the chaotic stories, there is some serious fun in here.
PRESENTATION
The fattening curve in this game is impressive. As many of the women featured start out regular sized or even skinny, you eventually push them beyond obesity. Think chocolates, pizzas, cake, burritos, nuggets and even liquid feeding. A lot of fattening happens in Fattening Career, in many ways and body types. Yummy.
Graphically, the game looks believable and sometimes even gorgeous. Schools, hospitals, bars and houses all look well-crafted, with all kinds of little tweaks to give scenes character. Render angles stay on the safe side, although the later content does rank up the quality of the angles.
Ages range between 29 and pushing forty. A diverse cast of women eventually finds their way to David. From Latinas to Asians, tall gingers to short, blonde queens. All of them have something special that makes you want to keep watching what happens next. From a teacher to an entrepreneur, and a streamer to a gym athlete. They all look and feel unique.
While extreme obesity isn’t my kink, I found many models to be very attractive at various points during the game. You gradually grow the women into their final form, often ballooning them in the moment so they can grow larger. Many of these women look like curvy queens around stage two or three. Yet, most of the sexual fun happens when women are ballooned or beyond obese. Just be mindful that this is about sexualizing the big women, not necessarily the endowed ones.
While 10+ growing steps felt too elaborate and even grindy to me, it does allow fans to stuff food into their favorite girl often, feeding into the feeder fantasy. It isn't until the later stages that you actually start seeing food spills on their bodies and using food as a sexual object often seems taboo in the game. A missed opportunity to round out the idea of love for food.
The game really focuses on food and fat fetishism, leaving the sexual scenes on a second footing. There are intimate scenes for most women, but half the time it’s a repeat scene with more weight added to the woman. That said, women go topless or nude more often once they pass obesity. You’ll see plenty belly rolls stick out and thick thighs flopping.
Going past the discussion whether obesity is attractive, this game looks good and offers the player women who ‘pig out' until they go comatose. Although the renders often don’t do special outfits full justice, you can bet all stops are pulled for a good belly shot. And for a game like this, those are the absolute money shots.
There are quite a few memorable characters in this game, although it will take some time to see them in their full glory. Characters like Lyn, Bonnie, Cayenne and Natalie take quite a few hours to progress, but their gorgeous looks make up for most of it. If pretty women bulking out until they become a blob is your thing, prepare to be crushed.
GAMEPLAY
Fattening Curve is a story-based sandbox game. That sandbox is built offering three moments per day, where you get to pick one action per moment. With so many women eventually joining the fray, it becomes very hard to figure out where you can find the next moment for a particular woman, without bumping into a story thread for the other. Most of the grind comes from the game letting you blindly search where to go, and it’s not always fun.
There’s an extra randomiser element ingame that plays a part in the sandbox, which keeps you showing up at work or at the gym, often looking for a certain woman to pop up eventually. While it can be fun, the grind needed to find all content far outweighs the fun factor for me. There’s too much repeat content you have to witness in order to get to the new content.
Their stories are pretty much set in stone, which means the sandbox won’t allow you any meaningful choices while growing the women to human balloons. Gameplay forces some time-based activities on you, which you can easily deny using an in-game choice menu. You’ll have to play it all, in order to witness the full package.
Fattening Career also makes clever use of the phone system. You can read up on characters after they tell David more about their lives in conversation. Often, you'll get texts from needy chubbies who require your presence, often mainly to stuff their face. It’s not great, but it's honest work and David loves it.
Near the last levels of women’s obesity, the game becomes such a grind that there’s no real new content for weeks. A missed opportunity. Coupled together with the only choice being when you feed a woman into obesity, there’s just not that much impactful gameplay. You can feed women food until your heart or other body parts are content.
OVERALL
Fattening Career is rich in fats, but does require extensive repeated exercise to complete. If you don't mind being taken along for the ride and get off on seeing thin women go supersize, this is a certified 10/10 for you.
