As stakes rose higher than ever on season two’s cliffhanger, how will our heroes continue after their loss? An impending war draws closer, as the love grows stronger than ever in season 3.

Review contains mild spoilers for Season 1 & 2!

STORY
Without spoiling too much, things weren't looking good for the crew of the Iron Bastard at the end of last season. One crewmember less, another one severely incapacitated and their adversaries took what they came for. A big loss for the team. Luckily, fate favors them as eventually, they have a bit of a fighting chance after regrouping. But without Carman, who they need to miss for quite some period of time. The crew do what they can to heal their wounds, effectively finding out how they got jumped so bad.

This is also the time pregnancies start showing up for the family. If that’s something you've been hoping for, season 3 will definitely be the baby season. One of the crewmembers was already confirmed, but if you shot Camran’s seed right - you could add to that in this episode.

A plan that’s not unlike Mass Effects’ is hatched in order to take aim against the now more powerful arm of the Sovereignty. With the Shixses wiped out and their accumulated power distributed and stolen by the newly regent August, the crew met their biggest challenge ever. Potentially even saving our galaxy. Meanwhile, the human council is attacked, leaving August to condemn the attackers to war.

The story sets itself up quite generically, with bionic powers entering the mix as the gang hopes to unite old and unlikely new allies. For now, this episode borrows a big page out of Mass Effect’s book. But I can’t wait to see how Perverteer will spin it, even if the explanation of the threat at hand feels a bit stereotypical.

PRESENTATION
Episode 23 is mostly spent inside quarters with crewmembers. That means a lot of interiors and not a lot of creativity in terms of environment. The constraints allow Perverteer to try a few other things, some of which people have been absolutely praying for.

If you’re up for family fun, prepare to be entertained. This update contains a few steamy scenes with multiple people involved. It actually happened a bit too soon into Season 3 for my tastes, but I can imagine the hormones drove the women on the ship wild. It all looks good in Perverteer fashion, and yet still leaves things to be desired even in that taboo space.

All the crewmembers still look very good and a little surprise visit at the end is sure to have fans wanting Episode 24 fast. With the story leading to it's inevitable conclusion this season, I"m thinking we'll start to see more of these surprises pop up.

GAMEPLAY
Aside from very elaborate intimate scenes with multiple choices in positions (if you set yourself up right), there isn't much that keeps your game interesting choicewise so far. Choices that carry over from the first two seasons do play out into pregnancies and who Camran is romantically intimate with.

That said, you can also finally have that three-dick intimate scene people have been waiting for. That makes two of the most wanted intimate scenes out of the way, of which there will probably be more by the sound of it. At the date of writing, there are a few minor bugs that mess up a few minor choices in the backstory, but I'm sure Perverteer will work these out in the coming updates.

OVERALL
Coming in hot from a crazy cliffhanger at the end of season 2, episode 23 feels a bit calmer than usual episodes. Although the stakes are definitely raised and perhaps with even war on the horizon, season 3 mostly sets up the family relations necessary to go to war for in the first place. Because Camran and the girls have more than ever to fight for.
