While we can all agree the AVN scene is littered with immoral products, the real world crackdown on adult content by payment processors is truly terrifying. As a platform where we enjoy and explore these types of games, I have to take a stand. Hear me out.
Collective Censorship
In case you're unaware - English-speaking lobbyists have been cracking down on porn-based content ever since the start of this decade. First, they pressured payment processors to go after OnlyFans, wanted to make sure people around the world couldn't play their games, and finally Steam & Itch.IO are caving in to the pressures , with the latter even pulling access to all adult-labeled games. Excuse my French, but this is a clusterfuck. Not just for adult games, for all of us.
Illegal Content
Over the months, I've encountered games with illegal content. We're talking involuntary penetration, family intimacy and daddy kinks, among even heavier topics. While none of these topics are within my personal interests, I would be a bad reviewer if I didn't warn you of them or at the very least lay them out for you upfront. This adult game witchhunt has been going on for a while and AVN creators are running out of options fast. Not just the ones with loose morals, all AVN creators won't be able to receive payment if this keeps up. We need a split-up before it's too late.
Hold Creators Accountable
Face it, the only solution to this situation is if the AVN community holds developers accountable for the unethical content they create. Content that's unethical will go into hiding, which is not ideal, but does allow people to enjoy their dark kinks in private. Those creators might have to find alternative ways of payment, of which I'm sure they will because fans are resourceful.
Automated Abuse
With the rise of AI content, the lines are gone. Europol reported finding a complete ring of AI adult content featuring children earlier this year. It's a small step to the darker VN content posted on the internet and soon, people won't be able to tell the difference anymore. At that point, the whole industry will have to be regulated in a way never seen before.
Bigger Agenda
What if I told you my ovaries signal me this is about more than just the dark corners of AVN games? What if these people eventually won't allow works with sexual acts in them to be monetized? Games like TFTUV and Man Of The House would not be able to exist because of certain content in them. I don't believe this pushback will stop at just adult games, not at all. This sound like a group of controlling people, pushing their agenda onto the world, eventually sending us into a new form of censorship. Not just about adult content, but about payment processors deciding what goes and doesn't on the internet. A financial hostage situation.
I get the world does require immediate action to tackle illegal and potentially harmful content, but not allowing adult games harms just as much as it helps. For many friends and developers that lost their income today, I ask you to please visit and sign the following websites:

Mastercard put into effect a new policy regulation
Because for a society not having any problems with children shooting each other in the head over the internet digitally, the crack down on pornography seems just a little too convienently linked. Having said that, I'm in agreement we need to regulate illegal acts in games and possible outlaw them to certain portions of the internet.
If your game is one of those games that didn't cross into illegal territory, but has been removed recently, my heart goes out to you. This world always gets funny when it comes to money.
