Whoever goes studying learns one thing very quickly - yearly tuition is pricey. These days, students will do anything to make their college education work. And you, as a teacher, are about to experience that first hand when you realize your vacation planning skills suck.

STORY
You’re Mr.Davis, a teacher that just can’t catch a break. Luckily, summer break is upon you and you get to go to Vegas. Well, the city. Eventually, you learn your planning skills suck and the whole vacation seems like a mess-up. That is, until you catch wind of one little bit of excitement that you as a teacher would never stoop to - bringing a hot girl in.

The Student Loan is short and its story, while a little stereotypical, is simply not fleshed out enough. There’s some great elements in here and the language the developer uses work - but there’s not nearly enough emotional connection built up between Mr. Davis and his student in order to make things flow naturally. That makes this a bit of a male teacher fantasy, while the story does do the work to ground the student in the first place.

This developer has serious potential, but I would have loved to see the story fleshed out better. After all, it's the reason why the situation is exciting in the first place. It’s a short game, but that doesn't excuse shortcuts in storytelling.

PRESENTATION
For a 2022 game, the graphics are passable to average. Riley looks very cute and gorgeous, easily being the highlight of the short game. Mr. Davis is average and I would have loved him to have a bit more personality to him. The rendering looks a bit basic or dated, but works good enough to sell the fantasy. All rooms don’t really look like they are lived in though, which doesn’t add to the fantasy of it being real places.

This game does have an intricate intimate scene, which I figure will please most players. Some shots could benefit from better lighting or camera angles, but seeing as this is the developer’s first game - it’s actually pretty decent.

GAMEPLAY
It’s a visual novel where you can decide how to speak to your students. No story paths other than choices how things happen.

OVERALL
This game is recommendable if you’re into the whole teacher/student fetish, but it’s a short ride and while the end is cute, the story doesn’t really take you anywhere. The writing of the developer is interesting however, if he can find a way to give his characters more ground. A short fun experience, with the student’s looks being the only truly memorable thing. She should make a reappearance elsewhere.
